The CPRE Rutland board has appointed a new Trustee with valuable rural, lobbying and planning experience. He is  Giles Clifton who lives in Ridlington. Giles was recently elected to serve on Rutland County Council and now sits on the county council’s planning committee.  

Giles is a communications professional with fifteen years’ experience of corporate and public affairs. He is a qualified barrister who has worked at the heart of Westminster as an adviser and aide to senior politicians. As a political lobbying professional he has designed and implemented campaigns at the UK and EU level working for clients across the retail, business, agriculture and technology sectors. Giles has led campaigns for corporates, trade bodies and individuals utilising traditional and social media. He also has extensive public relations experience across Westminster, Whitehall departments, the devolved Parliaments and Assemblies, the European Commission and the European Parliament.
