I would like to welcome you to CPRE Rutland’s new web-site, now live, thanks mainly to the efforts of Ron Simpson, our Vice-chair, and Sarah Hatherill, one of the team working on our current project, Rutland 2036.

The project was launched at a public meeting back in February in Oakham. Since then we have developed the pilot housing survey, which has now been distributed around Uppingham, we have set out our plans for creating a statement of vision for Rutland, as you may have seen publicised recently, and put together our thoughts on responding to the Rutland Local Plan Consultation under Regulation 19, which closes on 9th October. At the same time, we are supporting the National CPRE effort in responding to the Government’s latest proposals for reform of the planning system. Rutland County Council is taking a keen interest in much of this work, and we expect to be working more closely with them in the coming months.

The restrictions resulting from the ongoing pandemic continue to affect the way we operate. In particular, our plan to hold this year’s AGM, already postponed from July, have been further disrupted, and it looks as if it will now have to wait until next year. Further details will be sent to members in due course.

We will provide regular updates via this blog and our social media accounts on facebook and twitter, both of which can be found @cprerutland. We look forward to hearing from you.
